What will I do in the next ten years

I have no idea about what I will do in the next ten years. The more I study, the less interest I have in commercial design which I major in. I won't go on studying for advanced in graduate school. I even don't want to go into jobs related to commercial design.
Not knowing what job I'll get, there are still something I wanna do.
First, I want to learn how to make coffee, from grinding coffee bean. Actually, I can do it now. But I want to learn how to bake, from cookies to cakes. So that I can drink coffee with a snack I baked! I also want to learn to cook. My mom cooks great, she has many special recipes. Sometimes I have a stange think that if I don't learn my mom's cook skill, I'll be a unfilial daughter...
Second, I want to read many books. There are many great books. I think if I don't read them, I'll feel sorry for myself in the end! I hope one day when someone speaks of any book, I can always respond I have read that!
Third, I want to improve English and study Spanish on my own. English is important if I wanna take trips to other countries. My sister study Japanese and German, so I am charged with Spanish... She said, she guides when we travel to Japan or Germany, it's my turn when we are in Spanish language family countries!
Before these what I wanna do, I have to find a part-time job. I can't be an idle person at home. Maybe I can try to get a job at coffee shop, I can learn how to make coffee there~

Have I told you I major in Commercial Design?
I still can't find my real interest now...
It's really a big problem!
Last time we talk, I said I'll send you a sketch.
But I didn't sketch any picture till now = =

I saw you usually on msn these days~ How do you do?
How's your job?
Have you go to other countries after Sri Lanka?
I'm in the storm of mid-term report...
Can't dong-dong-dong( copy that sound...) you...

Will you come to Taiwan recently?
There is a" Hakka Tung Blossom Festival." 桐花季
My mom goes to Miaoli with her sisters every year~ to see tung.
I haven't been there before... sigh = =

Don't know what to say, in English...

Thanks a lot!

Hello 怡帆!
Haha.. That was really a surprise.. A real pleasant one indeed(:
Yes it's been so long since we last talked! Thought you've forgotten about me! Wow such a cool assignment, so happy you thought of me(: .. My honour(:

Yeah I know you're in commercial design, we call it Industrial Design in Singapore.. Can't find your interest? Perhaps you can just continue with the course and think as you move along? I'm sure it'll turn out great(: YES SEND ME MY SKETCH!!! ^_^

My job? Yes did I tell you I'm on internship now? Under an organisation called National Youth Council, which is under the Singapore government. It sponsors overseas community service trips like the one I went to for Sri Lanka.. I may be going Malaysia for an exchange programme in June! Hope I get in! So excited((:
Mid-term report? Means it'll be the holidays after you complete it? When's your holidays? Going anywhere to play? HaHa dong-dong-dong! So cute!

I was thinking of going to Taiwan in July, but it'll be hot right? And all my friends are guys, and they want me to bring them around! So boring! Will you come meet me or go around places with me? (:
When is 桐花季? Taking a train from Taipei to Miaoli is quite near? Can I join you if you go? Haha..

Don't worry you didn't use any wrong word! Perhaps just some little grammatical errors. Practice makes perfect!

要用英文也没关系的阿! (:

Letter 3- I sent to him
Date: Sat, 25 Apr 2009

Hi Teck Chuan
Commercial design& industrial design are two different departments.
Commercial desgin is about graphic design, animation, and illustration. I don't know about industrial design, maybe is about product design.
You said your friend sleep beside you in army majored in the same department with me. What about his class?

The picture I send you is one of my midterm project.
The subject is to adapt or combine old fairy tales, and develop characters in our fairy tale.
This picture is little red riding hood, ha ha~ She's cute~

You had told me that you are on internship, on msn, in Chinese.
I don't know how to speak in Engish, so I just asked how's your job...
I found a part-time job, in cram school. Uhh... horrible!
Most I do is having phone call to enroll new students.
I don't like to speak to strangers, what I hate most is some people hang up my call!
Uhh...
Uhh...
I told my boss I want to quit, but I were convinced to stay yesterday...
My friends said I'm silly... I think so, too!
What's your suggestion?

After I complete my mid-term report, it still have many works wait for me = =
sigh...

桐花季 is start from April, I don't know to when...
Actually many places have 桐花, just 桐花 bloom in different time in different places.(不同地方的桐花開花時間不太一樣)

I'm going out for my work...
Good bye!
Good luck for me...

Hello..
Oh I didn't know commercial and industrial design were different! Yeah it's about product design.. Yours sound more interesting! But no where near my league (我和藝術完全沒緣分哈哈)...
我那當兵的朋友還沒進大學!和我一樣8月入校...

照片很可愛!!!

Cram school = 補習中心 ?
So is the same job you told me the other time? I think it's not giving you any joy at work! Perhaps you should find something which you be happier doing? 被人掛電話的感覺真的真的很 !@#$%^&*(() ... 我知道!!! 辛苦你了(:

I checked online, 桐花季 is until 15 May only! So I'd probably miss it): ..

Anyway I was quite hesitant about going to Taiwan because of $$$.. But you are one of the key reasons why I want to go(: So hope you'll be free in July! 做我免費的導遊好嗎?肯定比其他導遊更好更貼心(:

祝你工作愉快.. ^_^ ..

Travel plan

I don't know how to plan a travel plan, so I offer a 3-day travel plan to Yilan. I took a trip to Yilan last summer vacation with my high school friends. This experience can be an example if someone wants to go to Yilan. My friend made this plan by collecting information from Internet. We've been there last summer, so I'm sure it is feasible.

Day 1-
Take train from Taipei to Luodong 羅東.
Visite Luodong Sports park 羅東運動公園& Night market 羅東夜市.
Because one of my friends had summer course's exam on the day we set out, we took train in the afternoon. When we got to Luodong Train Station, the B& B hostess drove us to the house to unload our baggage. Then she drove us to Luodong Night market.
Luodong Night market is bustling. There are many vendors serve traditional local foods, 卜肉& 糕渣 interseting me most because of its' names.

The picture is an unknown object near Luodong Night market.

Day 2-
Visite Donshan River 冬山河& National Center for Traditional Art 傳統藝術中心.
Take train to Jiaosi 礁溪.
The time we got there is during "Yilan International Rain Festival 宜蘭國際蘭雨節," it used to be called "The Yilan(Ilan) International Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival 宜蘭國際童玩藝術節." I think Rain Festival is not as interesting as IICFFF, because the entertainment facilities are not as much as before. We just had a little fun then moved on to National Center for Traditional Art by electric boat between this and Donshan River Water Park.
Our B& B hostess likes there very much, she even bought Free Admission( NT$ 500 for one year, for residents of Yilan only) It has different exhibitions in each season. The place is antique, and is good for people to shopping and walk around. I like there, too!
The hostess drove us to Luodong Train Station, then we got to Jiaosi. The B& B hostess in Jiaosi also took us back to B& B, they are so nice! We went out looking for hot spring at 8 o'clock, and had a pleasant night!

Donshan River& National Center for Traditional Art.

Day 3-
Take train to Dasi 大溪.
Go home with a happy heart!
Summer is always related to beach, so we definitely had a route to Honeymoon Bay 蜜月灣 in Dasi.
We missed our train to Dasi. The next train had to wait for a long time. There are many taxis waiting for tourists. We took taxi to Dasi in the end.
Unexpectedly, we don't know Honeymoon Bay is mainly for surfing. We don't surf, so we just could enjoy sunshine and seawater to be content ourselves.
Had nothing to play, we went to Dasi Train Station. It's really a desolate and remote place... But the scene there is beautiful.

There are many other places can be visited, but we wanted to take this trip before the ghost month.
The Wulaokeng Adventure Park 武荖坑風景區(冒險園區)
The Toucheng/ Waiao Maritime Culture Park 頭城外澳(海洋文化園區)

It's very inconvenient for people with no car licence to hang around!

p.s.

vocabularies
feasible 可行的
B& B= Bed& Breakfast 民宿
folk 民間的,通俗的
lore 傳說,學識
folklore 民間傳說,民俗
desolate 荒蕪的
maritime 海的

My penpal

My penpal named Teck Chuan. He is my senior high school classmate's exchange student from Singapore.
We didn't talk when he's in our class. I just said good-bye when he was going to back to Singapore, and gave him a big lollipop. Surprisingly, we keep in touch on msn... I think we don't called good friends, but we send wishes to each other. Actually, he sends to me more than I send to him... On my birthday, Chinese New Year, Christmas, etc, by cell phone messages. Sometimes not just holiday wishes, he also sends encourage words to me.
 It's really a precious friendship!

Children aged from 3 to 5 can develop their literacy skills by watching animated TV series. One of the famous TV series is "WordWorld." The show is now seen in nearly two dozen countries and in three languages: English, Cantonese, and French. It's creator is Don Moody, and he got the idea when he was working on a computer program to promote literacy.

The features of WordWorld
1) WordWorld is a world where objects are made up of the letters that spell what they are.
2) The stories and jokes are all told by a group of three-dimensional animated characters, called WordFriends. They include Dog, Duck, Sheep, Frog, and Pig. Each of them has a distinctive personality that young viewers can relate to.

Moody says reading is one of the most important skills children need to develop early on. It's the fundation for learning math, science, social studies and other subjects.

My opinions
Reading is the fundation of learning a language. There are many ways to memorise vocabularies. I think morphing letters into what the objects look like is interesting. Children don't want to see the text on the screen, I don't want, neither. The way WordWorld presents can catch our attention, then we would like to know more about the language.
But I think this way is just for beginners. It's too easy for who already has basic vocabularies.
